Golf & Things To Do

There are many wonderful places in the world to play golf, but there is only one “home of golf” - The Kingdom of Fife. Just over the Forth Bridges from Edinburgh. Fife is easily reached and golf is easy on the pocket too, with the First in Fife Golf Pass. 3 rounds for £59 and 5 rounds for £92 (between 1st April and 31st October). The GolfPass can be purchased at www.firstinfifegolf.com or we can organise this for you. We can also accommodate parties on a dinner bed and breakfast.

The Cedar Inn is literally a few minutes walk from Aberdour golf course. What could be better than a game on this coastal course with magnificent views of the forth, Islands and historic Edinburgh and then returning to the comfort of The Cedar Inn where you would be in the only hotel in the area with a traditional “pub” feeling. We have our own whisky bar, with 101 fine malts, public bar and licensed restaurant.

We also operate a small 8 seated VW shuttle bus that allows golfers to travel around the courses without the need for additional transport and designated drivers. This can be arranged for an additional fee.

Walking

On the Fife Coastal path we are the only designated “Welcome Port” in Aberdour for the section from North Queensferry to Burntisland and from the experience of the many walkers staying at the Inn, we know its just the right distance for most walkers that are enjoying the route to settle down for the night.

Usually the last week in July into the first few days of August it has run for over 25 years becoming a major event within Fife. Edinburgh

Some visitors have cottoned onto the secret of visiting the amazing capitol. You can stay at the Cedar with all its charms and travel by rail from the village station (150 yards away). Situated on the London to Aberdeen main line with frequent trains, you travel in comfort to Edinburgh with the views of the Forth and the Bridges in around 35 mins. However you get off in the very heart of the city yards from the Castle, Princess Street, the Royal Mile and all the major attractions. Whereas some choose to stay in an outlying district of the city and spend a lot of their stay negotiating bus routes and time tables! All at City prices!
